Do We Really Even Need the Government??

A Tall Glass of Politics recently published a blog on how the government may shut down, the reasons for the shutdown and the possible consequences of it. But let's not drink that tall glass yet! Take a moment and think about this, what has the government done for us latley? Make us further into debt, Maya Elliott said it herself, "America has reached its borrowing limit." What could happen next? What is the purpose of having an organization if it is doing nothing but burrying our wallets further and further down a hole?

On average, a senior citizen runs out of their social security check after about 3 years, and where does the funding of that check come from after those 3 years are up? Us. The actual working class Americans. Obamacare is also doing nothing but stealing our hard earned money. There are few ways to make a profitable campaign that benefits all citizens, moreover it is extremely difficult to kick start the program, however the national government is not making any attempt of that at all. Perhaps its time for a new change, a different organization to help decide what's best for us citizens, maybe the government shutdown would be a step closer to reformation and profitable ideas. Drink on that!

Does Government Glance at the Bigger Picture?

Does government at least take into consideration the interests and wants of the public? Or do they only look at the public from one extreme to another? Government establishes multiple agencies to help the poor and raises various prices, such as gasoline prices, to make the rich more rich. So, where does that leave the other 60% of us, known as the middle class? The ones who work hard for their education to put food on the table for their loved ones? A simple number of annual incomes per household don’t cover the amount of people living in it. And the result of this depletes the funding of financial aid for young adults who are graduating high school at a younger age than their parents. These young adults are also working on getting their education so that they can step into government’s shoes once their generation is over. A simple thought of it is, “sure, let’s drown them in debt with the rest of the country!”

Instead of government looking at the extremes, they should look into our public, our community, our country and launch ideas that will benefit us all in one way or another, so that the next generation has a fair chance at leading this country to success. Where will our country be if we only allow those more favored to benefit and make the decisions for the country? The ideas of maximizing profits and paying the littlest attention to those in poverty will only get us so far, but will do nothing for those of us in the middle class that do not qualify for half the opportunities. Government should base their decisions on the people’s and community’s choice, not the thoughts or wants of the extremes.

America, "Working Together"

We the People posted a blog about our lovely nation’s love for its citizens. We all know our fighting nation is in a financial downfall, but are we truly desperate enough to take money away from those less privileged? Do we really want to take the little food they can possibly afford for themselves and their loved ones? Shouldn’t those more privileged be the ones to contribute the surplus of resources, the ones with multi-billionaire businesses? Starting a more businesses would offer more jobs and more money to taxes for the government would be a much greater and positive result for the nation. Republicans want to reduce the food stamp program because they believe that it will save the nation’s debt crisis while the Democrats believe that it will take the little ounce of food resource that thousands of citizens depend on away. Although the nation is in a debt crisis, but are we truly desperate for funds that we will take the essential part of life from the citizens less privileged?

What is the Government Thinking?

The US is drowning in debt; the very taxes we pay for are only a fraction of the cost that we owe. As the government survives into their first month after the shutdown they continue to spy, or “patrol on the people’s interest on the web.” What is the point of all this? Where are our rights? Is this safe, or the better question should be what does this have to do with innovating our country? Our taxes go straight to the government for innovation and debts of our valued country, but where is the innovation? What in the world are we paying them for and what are we accomplishing?

However, let’s not jump to conclusions; let’s think about how this could be beneficial to our country. If we spy, I mean, “patrol,” what the citizens of today do online and on their cellular devices perhaps we can find information on what the public is more interested in. This could lead to more businesses, more jobs, and, my favorite, “customer satisfaction”. More businesses and jobs to actual American citizens (not immigrants) would be the cure to solving our financial problems and help increase our literacy rate. Together, the government can help the community and possibly keep the rich people rich and get the middle class a new level.

So now we look to the public to decide on what the government is truly doing, where our money from taxes is going and how our country’s debt is getting resolved; moreover IF it is getting resolved. Some may say that it is for the good of the public that the government is looking over our shoulders, others may say it is a violation of our privacy, and then there are those who are more interested in the life of the next generation. Interestingly enough, citizens find it interesting how the US is starting to spend money in gold rather than the American dollar currency, what is America coming to and how is the government helping it?

Does the Press Have Anything Better to Do?

        In a recently published article by Matt Gertz, he explains how the press shifts topics from the government shutdown back to the recent catastrophe in Benghazi, Libya. As the press needs news to feed on, a biased accusation from Carney to Rosen was that he had been, "creating an exchange here for Fox." As this hearing goes on about the incidents in Benghazi, the questionings that Rosen had answered to gave the assumption that te was no excuse as to why they couldn't prevent the incident or use the military for protection and support. Rosen's only arguement for the incident was that there was just not enough ime for planning and preparation.

        Matt Gertz's blog is detailed and supportive as he even provides the actual video from the hearing to reinforce his arguements and information given. Moreover he provides extra links to other blogs that he had written in the past about Robert Gates actions of criticism towards conservatives. Due to the way Matt Gertz comments about the video, and his dedication to quoting particular questions and answers from the video, it is obvious how his intended audience for this blog was for the citizens in concern about the incidents in Benghazi. So that the citizens who lost a loved one have a better understanding of what could have been done and what hadn't been done to prevent this unfotunate event.

         After reading and understanding this article the readers can easily realize, there is little to no way you can disagree with the tragic events from Benghazi. With how much he explains the military's experience and knowledge in protection, time for planning should have been the least time consuptive activity in adressing this event.

Republicans Possibly Responsible for Government Shut Down?

In a recent article posted in Think Progress, Annie-Rose Strasser and her colleagues explain how shutting the government down due to Obamacare would be a mistake on the behalf of 49 republicans. Annie gives a great deal of detailed information explaining how these republicans are against the funding of Obamacare, but she does not give as much information as to why these republicans are against Obamacare. This leaves the reader free to assume the reason that they are against this government program because they see it as a waste of money however, if they see it as a waste of money then why don’t they make the same amount of effort to shut down other government programs listed in the article. This article is in intended to be read by other opposing republicans to help them realize that refusing to fund Obamacare unless the law ensures otherwise would only result in failure to the economy. She intends that after reading the article the republicans to realize that once the government is shut down, the US will be further in debt, with fewer national parks open and other government funded recreational programs; solving nothing. The authors give great details explaining that 46% of people would blame Congressional Republicans for the government shut down with the statistics being supported by CNN. Moreover she gives a list of representatives that are advising to defund Obamacare to help back up her statement. It seems her prediction is that if the republicans had gotten their way with the defunding of Obamacare, the government would have successfully been shut down, and the republicans would be to blame; losing their votes of winning a republican presidency and adding to their humiliation.

 

Government's Idea to Paying Debt

Today the US is in debt by trillions of dollars. Looking at USA Today’s recent posts, it shows how instead of looking for ways to pay that money back or stop using it as a credit card, we point our interests in what citizens are doing on the internet. No telling what information they were looking for, but what does that have to do with our global affairs and money spending? Where is our money going and why is it driving us further into debt? Rather than having our leaders take the time to brainstorm a simple idea to get us out of this ocean of debt, we are spending our time studying over a 100 new generation’s interests and affiliations online. If it is that important, then why is the government trying to keep it a secret? It’s no wonder why they are on the verge of getting shut down.
